As EVENTup’s lead Product Engineer, you will be running our software engineering organization, building our web, internal operations and infrastructure products. You will be responsible for adding technical insight to our product strategy and translating it into a shippable product. You will be deeply involved in the entire software development lifecycle from ideation to execution and launch. Candidate should be able to investigate and drive development of new and existing products forward. In this role, you will be an advocate for our customers both business facing and consumer facing and will need to be comfortable talking directly with users and acting as a thought leader for all product development and design decisions.

Day-to-day, you’ll be managing people, designing processes as well as architecting features and writing code. We are looking for a technically strong, hands-on leader that can align engineering with our strategic goals and scale our product for the future.

Technical Skills & Requirements

• Minimum 5 years as an engineering lead in a Python, Ruby or Rails or Node web services

• organization

• Experience working with Javascript and JQuery

• Excellent skills in SQL database programming and performance optimization

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

• Experience with Git or any DVCS (we are on GitHub)

• Familiarity with Elasticsearch, Solr, or similar search technology

• Familiarity with wrangling geographic data

• Leadership Ability

• Experience managing teams and process

• Passion for building new products

• Ability to manage the projects from a technical and business standpoint

• Ability to review and test code of junior developers

• Desire to lead and be accountable for tech team and initiatives within the company

• Experience managing and building great tech teams

• Ability to architect and design user experiences for B2B and B2C applications

• Ability to create wireframes, mock-ups, and prototypes for new and existing products

• Have a strong visual design aesthetic

• Possess the ability to work independently and in group settings

• Have experience in an agile development environment
