Job Objective
The Linux Systems / DevOps Engineer will be responsible for the configuration and support of our Linux technology infrastructure. They will serve as a member of the Operations group providing on-site support at the main office as well as our datacenters.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning, installation, support, and configuration of Linux OS (RHEL, CentOS) and associated services.
- Monitor and respond to alerts from the technology infrastructure in order to ensure proper SLA's are met.
- Work with a team providing capacity planning and make recommendation on new equipment and services.
- Actively monitor the issue tracking system and address/resolve outstanding issues.
- Help us work smarter and not harder by automating routine tasks.
Qualifications
General

- A strong sense of ownership of uptime and system performance.
Technical
- 4-5 years managing a Linux environment: RHEL, CentOS
- Expertise with a scripting language: Bash, Perl, Ruby, Python or similar
- Proficiency with Puppet, Chef or similar
- Experience using a wide variety of open source technologies and tools
- Hands on experience with Nagios and creation of custom scripts to monitor all aspects of application infrastructure
- Experience managing a 24/7 SaaS infrastructure
Optional
- Support and troubleshooting of Apache/Tomcat/nginx webservers
- Building and maintaining IP-based networks (Cisco)
- F5 Load balancers and/or iRule experience
- MySQL maintenance and troubleshooting
- Experience with VMWare and vCenter
