Description:

 We are seeking a Litigation Attorney to work directly with our General Counsel and Legal team to assist on litigation and regulatory matters, and to perform related compliance-related functions on the Legal team.  Specific responsibilities will include legal research, drafting responses to motions and discovery responses, formulating litigation strategy, maintaining a schedule for UpRight Law’s litigation and regulatory matters, coordinating with outside counsel on various matters, and working closely with other parts of the organization to assess risk and to implement compliance-related improvements. 

We are looking for a candidate with the following background:

●       3-5 years of litigation experience in a law firm or work with the government.  Experience as a judicial law clerk is a plus.

●       Candidate must possess strong research, legal writing and analytical skills.

●       Candidate must be licensed to practice law and in good standing in Illinois (other states acceptable). 

●       Consumer bankruptcy experience, and other experience in consumer legal services, is preferred but not required. 

●       Trial and deposition experience is preferred but not required
