The Part-Time Natural Products Researcher is a contributor to the quality of the SPINS Product Library. This detail oriented person builds on prior experiences that show attention to detail, passion for natural/grocery industry and is responsible for supporting the research of products and ingredients related to the Natural, Organic, Specialty and Conventional Products Industry. This position is responsible for data input into the library. Approximately 100% of time will be data entry and product research for the SPINS Product Library.

This position is a part-time, regular position requiring a minimum of 16 hours per week and a maximum of 29 hours per week during standard business hours.

The role requires interest in the Natural/Organic/Food Industry and knowledge of the departments, brands, products and attributes that fuel the industry.  A passion for health and wellness and a desire to work in an entrepreneurial environment will be important for success. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, organized, eager to learn and have a high attention to detail.  A passion for natural products, wellness and the supporting research of ingredients will differentiate a candidate. Good team and supervisor communications skills are expected.  The employee will work under the direction of a Senior Nutrition/Natural Product Researcher and will use our system, Reltio, and Access to enter data according to SPINS protocol. The database will be updated with information the employee researches and attention to detail and productivity are key measures of success. Competency using Excel is essential. Additional project work such as special mapping and organization of data, and other duties as assigned, can be expected to be incorporated as needed by the team. 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Enter data in product database according to SPINS protocol.
  • Meet accuracy targets provided by supervisor.
  • Research and audit product information as directed by supervisor using, SPINS partners, the Internet and other sources
  • Update Product Library database with product information.
  • Perform data entry outside of standard framework, as needed.

Experience and Skills:

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in process or completed in Nutrition, Dietary health.
  • 2 year’s experience in data entry or research or equivalent
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational skills
  • Extremely Detail-oriented
