The Photo Editor is responsible for retouching all imagery generated by Groupon’s photography teams. The majority of their time will be spent on retouching in-house stock photography. They must partner with the photography teams and Art Directors to communicate preventative issues that arise in post-production that can be corrected on set by the photography teams. They will also be the point of contact for all photo editing questions and training requests from other team members. They may also assist the photography team on set during shoots as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Edit and retouch images produced by the photography teams.

  • Effectively communicate and work closely with all photography teams to ensure that retouching feedback is incorporated on set.

  • Drive the creation of retouching style guides & training resources for other team members to reference.

  • Ensure final assets are delivered in an organized manner, consistent with the needs of the teams.

  • Use Photoshop to perfect each image through color correction, sharpening, sizing, and other post production tools.

  • Meet or exceed weekly productivity expectations.

  • Assist the photography teams on set as needed.

  • Maintain understanding of current and most up-to-date photo retouching trends

  • Detail-oriented, flexible and able to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment with aggressive schedules and deadlines.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts preferred, related degrees considered

  • 3+ years of studio experience

  • Mac proficient with expertise in Adobe PhotoShop/Lightroom/Bridge, CaptureOne and MS Suite

  • Experience with Canon photography equipment and studio flash lighting preferred

  • Must be able to transport and lift 25 lbs
