Design at eSpark

Success means growth — we want eSpark to reach millions of students and for our students to grow dramatically in ways that set them up for future success. As a Product Designer, you will work closely with the Product Manager, the engineering team, as well as students and teachers to turn user needs, problems and opportunities into well-designed and usable products and features. If you are excited by this challenge, then join us!

Expectations

As a Product Designer you will be expected to:

Partner with the Product Manager to help the team understand complex problems through user insights and visualized solutions.
Take a user story and break it down to explore, build, and test a wide range of solutions via rapid prototyping and usability testing. You know at least one prototyping tool (e.g. Sketch, Invision, Axure) well and are excited about the idea of testing many iterations a week.
Quickly identify and visualize potential options via flows, interface layouts, and interaction design based on feedback, metrics, and usability findings.
Partner with the Product Manager to define user flows and user interface specifications that meet Engineering’s needs, helping them understand what to build
Execute design in a scalable way, working closely with Learning Design and Engineering to create assets and patterns/libraries
Commit to expanding your professional knowledge, being open to learn from and teach the rest of the team, and staying current with relevant design and technology trends
Qualifications

1–3 years of experience designing and shipping web and/or mobile applications
Highly self-motivated, with previous experience working independently on ambiguous problems
Demonstrated ability to work through a design process from idea through building and learning phases
Experience translating requirements into usable and compelling visual design systems.
Provide us examples of design problem solving: concept sketches, interaction flows, prototypes and UI designs for web, mobile and visual UI mastery. If you have real product examples, we’d love to see them!
