The Position:

Leapfrog Online is looking for a highly organized and resourceful person for a Product Specialist position. The Product Specialist works within our Product Development team in developing software solutions for our business units. You will be responsible for gathering requirements, writing documentation, and managing software quality through acceptance testing for projects that support our Fortune 500 clients. You will be working in an environment with opportunities for bright, curious self-starters to quickly own their own product features and become a Product Owner for a sprint team.


Responsibilities:

  • Screen incoming tickets; manage ticket priority list and documentation; recognize highly-sensitive tickets for escalation; recognize patterns in recurring tickets.
  • Assist with development of functional requirement specifications, use cases, and product guides and documentation.
  • Gather requirements through interviews, analysis, product usage data, and workflow analysis.
  • Maintain product support materials such as product documentation and marketing content.
  • Execute acceptance testing of new product features.
  • Brief and train other internal departments regarding new products and enhancements to existing products.
  • Assist with gathering monthly metrics and analyzing statistics to identify trends in product usage and bottlenecks.
  • Work well cross-functionally with team members from design, UI/UX development, media, analytics, business intelligence, and engineering to ensure thorough, accurate, in-depth and concise requirements and specifications are developed.
  • Exercise good judgment in escalating issues.


Qualifications:

  • Eagnerness to learn, innate curiosity
  • Strong research and writing skills
  • Strong interest in software development and web technologies
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, combined with impeccable business judgment
  • Familiarity with common web and e-commerce concepts, tools and technologies
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Visio, Power point and Project
  • Eagerness to work within a dynamic, client-focused, service-oriented project management model
  • Exposure to agile development and project management methodologies a plus
  • 1 to 2 years of professional experience in IT functions such as software development, business process analysis, requirements gathering or project management a plus
  • 1 to 2 years of experience managing software development projects a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree
