What You'll Do:


The Program Delivery Manager is responsible for planning, organization and reporting of the software development and release cadence and execution within a large agile software development organization. The Program Delivery Manager is responsible for managing several concurrent high visibility work streams using agile methods in a fast-paced environment that crosses multiple business verticals.  


Responsibilities:




  • Ensure the continuous flow of value through the product development system.




  • Track that all upstream product market strategy and product portfolio decision inputs are available for product development planning




  • Work with the Agile, Product and Engineering leaders to ensure proper planning and preparation is executed to set development teams up for success.




  • Work with Engineering and Product Management to ensure that Development Team ownership is well aligned and team resources are identified and prepared.




  • Work with Agile teams to track dependencies and risks across the organization.




  • Track and report on team progress toward business commitments.




  • Plan program level retrospectives, track program improvement efforts and hold parties accountable for continuous improvement and learning.




  • Prepare program status reports for company executives and key internal and external stakeholders.  




  • Manage reporting on program level rollup of team metrics including throughput, cycle time and quality




  • Own all program tracking tools (Jira, other) and manage the optimization of these systems.




  • Track the product release process including communication and process execution




  • Work across the Enterprise to coordinate overall program success

Qualifications:




  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle models as well as expert knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment




  • A proven track record of successfully implementing software or web development projects using Agile methodologies including 8+ years of experience as managing large, complex projects in a high-tech development environment with cross functional teams.




  • Extensive experience with SCRUM/Agile methodologies with enterprise-level application development projects.




  • Experience working with multiple cross functional agile software product development teams




  • Sufficient level of technical background to accurately and objectively evaluate complex project risks and issues




Skills Required:




  • BA, BS, BBTM or equivalent experience is required; MBA or MS is a plus




  • Experience managing a team of at least 5.  Larger team experience preferred.




  • Strong interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, and cross-vertical collaborating




  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing priorities and demands




  • Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs with the ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence




  • Proven ability to lead software development projects and ensure objectives, goals, and commitments are met




  • Solid understanding and experience in using appropriate tools:





    • Agile Project Management tools such as Jira or equivalent




    • Google Drive, SmartSheets




    • Tableau, Domo or report generation equivalent





  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience interacting with both business and IT individuals at all levels including the executive level




  • Creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the “big picture” view

Location

We are located in River North just right off the Chicago Brown Line stop. We also provide you with a free shuttle service to/from Ogilvie and Union.
