The Quality Assurance Analyst will follow Lean development practices and focus on exploratory testing to ensure that the product developed meets the acceptance criteria defined in user stories.  The analyst will collaborate with members of product, development, QA, architecture, and analytics on defining and executing manual exploratory tests that support our lean practices. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Advocate quality on behalf of the customer/business
  • Participate in and follow Lean workflow methodologies
  • Facilitate the elicitation of story level acceptance criteria and ensure that user stories are defined and testable
  • Communicate levels of risk and probability of occurrence and mitigation strategies
  • Participate in post-production retrospective reviews
  • Ensure testing has an emphasis on high risk deliverables
  • Focus on executing and recording manual exploratory test sessions in JIRA
  • When needed: execute functional, integration, system, and fail over testing
  • Log bugs and defects
  • Maintain and document testing assets
  • Assist in performing and publishing defect analysis as needed
  • Maintain open clear and concise communication with development and product team members
  • Participate openly in all project related meetings
  • Ensure releases are deployed without defects
  • Contribute in establishing improvements in existing standards and procedures
  • Act as a liaison between product and technology
  • Actively seek out process gaps and solutions for them
  • Streamlines procedures to increase process efficiency
  • Work with development teams to develop a testing culture. Drive adoption of exploratory testing, bug prevention strategies, and other quality measures.
  • Contribute to departmental and organizational initiatives 
 
Required Skills
 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (Slack, Skype, Outlook)
  • Working knowledge of information technology and/or automotive sales industries
  • Excellent documentation, organizational, and prioritization skills
  • Flexibility with hours – dependent on the project needs
  • Familiarity with exploratory testing
  • Ability to work with little or no documentation
  • Capable of working on multiple projects in the same time frame
  • Light SQL scripting skills
  • Ability to analyze/interpret technical data
  • Troubleshooting and reasoning skills
  • Experience with CI/CD
 
Required Experience
  • College degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems, or equivalent working experience
  • 2-3 years of experience with Information Technology software quality assurance
  • 2-3 years of experience working in agile methodologies – Lean, scrum, Kanban
  • 1-3 years of experience working with tools such as: JIRA, Soap UI or other API testing tools, Device Anywhere or other mobile testing solutions, Virtual Machines, Confluence or other document repositories, Jenkins,
  • Experience with testing data and running database queries
  • Experience with integration testing frameworks (Selenium, Protractor)
  • Working knowledge of Unit Testing (Mocha, chai, sinon / jasmine)
  • Working knowledge of Vanilla JS, html, css
  • Exploratory Testing knowledge (Charters, Tours, and recording test sessions with notes)
  • Experience working with an off-shore distribution team
  • Experience with multi-browser and responsive testing concepts
