Our top priority at RedShelf is to help transition the learning community from print to digital course materials and be advocates for students everywhere.

Over the past four years, RedShelf experienced 400% YOY growth, and we’re looking to add a talented and passionate Quality Assurance Software Developer to our closely-knit agile team. The Quality Assurance Specialist will be responsible for generating well-articulated test cases and work with our cross functional teams. This person will be expected to facilitate architecting, designing and implementing new and existing testing tools, methods and become a key contributor to the overall project team and resource for technical testing.

Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Define, develop and implement quality assurance practices and procedures, test plans and perform other QA assessments
  • Write automated tests, maintain scripts, test sequences and implement manual procedures to ensure proper test coverage
  • Execute test plans on pre-release, upgrades and current versions of software
  • Work closely with development teams within the company to promote software quality standards
  • Engage in test case execution including defect documentation and tracking, resolution support, and fix verification
  • Participate in test team activities including requirements analysis, test planning, tracking, reporting, and support of test cycles
  • Work closely with Customer Support team to replicate customer issues
  • Identify relationships of bugs to the software code; Anticipate and prevent problems and roadblocks as they occur

Requirements:

  • Three to five (3-5) years of software QA experience
  • Minimum of one (1) years of full time development experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management as well as a diverse technical team
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change in assignments and priorities
  • Track record of balancing multiple priorities simultaneously with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines
  • Experience with Agile or Scrum methodology

Technology Requirements:

  • Experience with Python and SQL
  • Experience using HTML and CSS
  • Knowledge of Javascript frameworks (Ember, React, Angular)
  • Experience designing and maintaining automated tests for whitebox and blackbox testing
  • Experience executing REST API tests
  • Experience with Git or other distributed revision control and source code management systems
  • Knowledge of best practices for the Software Development Life Cycle (SLDC)

Other Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Experience with Django
  • Knowledge and appreciation of the advances in higher educational software, course materials, and digital publishing
  • Background and/or experience in educational technology and/or publishing
  • Comfort and/or experience in a startup environment
