OpinionLab has chosen Rails to build our SaaS reporting applications. As a member of our small (less than 20) but dedicated Product Development team, you will play a critical role in the architecture, design, development, and deployment of our Rails based applications and services. Our ongoing challenge is to transform tens of thousands of independant comments into actionable graphic representations in real time.

We don’t stop at just Rails:

We have ongoing study groups, like our weekly “Clojure-palooza”, and a training budget allocated to each developer. If you have been looking for a real opportunity to learn and develop with Clojure, ElasticSearch, or JavaScript, OpinionLab can deliver.

We are software craftspeople:
We believe that all production code should be high quality, performant, scalable, maintainable, testable, and extensible. We achieve these goals through the ongoing and constant use of software craftsmanship tools such as:

  • TDD
  • Continuous integration
  • Pair programming
  • Agile methodologies
  • Zero tolerance for technical debt

Our developers are responsible for more than just writing code:
In addition to crafting the software to run our systems, we take pride in working in self-sufficient cross functional teams. This means that we:

  • design and plan our own work (a la Scrum)
  • architect and design mission critical Saas platforms and APIs
  • use and contribute to open-source technologies and frameworks
  • continuously learn from and teach to other team members
  • translate business needs into working software
