The SEC Reporting Manager ensures all internal and external financial reporting complies with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and applicable SEC requirements on a complete, timely and accurate basis; acts as technical resource for the accounting and finance teams, keeping teams informed of the latest developments in accounting standards and best practices. Given the company’s planned spin off, this role will also be a key leader in establishing the company’s practices. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage the financial reporting process, including the preparation, drafting, tie down and coordination of the Company's annual reports on Form 10-K, quarterly reports on Form 10-Q and earnings releases on Form 8-K and related reporting binders.
  • Prepare and review other SEC filings prior to final approval.
  • Work with the accounting/finance teams in the preparation on monthly and quarterly management reporting.
  • Perform accounting research to ensure all external financial reporting complies with applicable rules, guidelines and best practices. Prepare a monthly accounting standards updates for issuance to accounting and finance personnel throughout the organization. Monitor and ensure timely identification and compliance with evolving accounting guidance, provide US GAAP interpretation and prepare technical memorandums that document issues in a clear, logical and comprehensive manner. Communicate and explain accounting issues and evolving accounting guidance to the management team.
  • Assist in monthly general ledger closing process as needed.
  • Provide primary support in managing the Sarbanes-Oxley Section 302 and Section 404 efforts as they relate to financial reporting, including processes related to certifications.
  • Manage communications with external auditors on external financial statements and accounting issues to ensure auditor agreement with company decisions on accounting disclosures and issues.
  • Assist in the coordination of annual audit and quarterly review activities of external auditors.
  • Assist with various special projects including acquisitions, financial analysis as needed.
  • Attend continuing education to stay current on hot and emerging topics and keep license active.
  • Perform system administrator tasks such as month-end rollover, hierarchy maintenance, workflow step maintenance and implementation of updates to models/procedures.
  • Assist with development and distribution of reporting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills
  • Strong computer skills including Word and Excel
  • Experience with TM1 Reporting system preferred
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of employees and management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • High energy, positive, collaborative and approachable work style
 
Required Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or business administration
  • 4+years in public accounting. Big Four or equivalent employment history strongly preferred
  • CPA required
  • 1+years in a SEC reporting role and 1+years in a corporate accounting role preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations
