5thColumn is looking to add several Security Consulting Engineers to our team. We're looking for people who like a good challenge and enjoy and thrive in a startup culture. We are mainly focused on Cisco technologies so experience with Cisco security is a definite advantage.
Location: We are a local team based in downtown Chicago. Ideally, any candidate applying would be based in the Chicagoland area. Some travel in the Midwest will be required.
Role and Responsibilities: The Security Consulting Engineer will provide customers with excellent service around their project including:
- Creating designs based on customer requirements
- Documenting finding and configurations
- Presenting findings to technical and executive audiences
- Working with team to develop new services
- Supporting our hosted services data center
Ideal candidates will have experience in two or more of the following security skills:
- Firewalls and Next-Gen Firewall/IPS (Preferably Cisco ASA and FirePower)
- Advanced Malware Protection (Cisco AMP)
- Email Filtering (preferably ESA)
- Web Content Filtering (like Cisco WSA or CWS)
- DNS Protection (such as OpenDNS)
- Identity based access (Cisco ISE)
Additional Skills that are desired:
- Cisco Security certifications (CCNA, CCNP or CCIE Security)
- Industry Security certifications (CISSP, Security +, or others)
- Routing and Switching (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP and Layer 2
- Authentication systems (Active Directory, Tokens, SAML)
- Team player
- Strong communication skills
