 Overview:

Rise Interactive (http://www.riseinteractive.com), a rapidly growing full service interactive advertising agency, is looking to hire a Data Analyst to report to the Vice President of Innovation.  We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly motivated individual that is excited about being part of a new Innovation department and contributing professionally to an entrepreneurial company with an expanding Fortune 500 client base.

SUMMARY AND SCOPE

The Data Analyst will report to the Vice President of Innovation. This person will streamline business and technology collaboration for Rise Interactive personalization and data analytics systems by being the steward of how Rise’s clients data can integrate with our platform. Our goal is finding someone strong in quantitative analysis and enjoys coding, but also wants to balance that with their interest in business to deliver data solutions for clients. They should have a strong curiosity to tackle complex challenges, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and seek a high-growth opportunity where they will have an immediate impact.  This individual will be on the front-lines of understanding new and existing data sources to help technology teams interconnect heterogeneous data for insights and marketing personalization products. You will be hands on and relish the opportunity to become an expert on Rise’s data to gaining the teams’ trust as a data analyst.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the software delivery for next generation Rise products by contributing to the analysis process that informs agile engineering requirements, solution architecture, source to target mappings, data dictionaries, and data models
  • Know what drives Rise’s client success, which factors influence strategy, and how available and not-yet available data can contribute to the success of those strategies
  • Become an expert on marketing and advertising technology data
  • On-board new client data by providing data quality support with clear and insightful analyses on the data at hand
  • Data mining skills (including data auditing, aggregation, validation and reconciliation), testing and creating and explaining results in clear and concise reports
  • Consult with internal and external customers to form requirements for engineers and data scientists  
  • Wrangle, load, and query data from multiple sources (files, databases, APIs) to understand how to create integrated views that can be used to drive decision making
  • Work with several large and complex SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Oversee data solution discovery and data quality assurance from concept to release and ongoing maintenance/support
  • Assist establishing and evolving consistent frameworks, platforms, standards and processes that enable developers to deliver systems that gracefully handle “bad” data scenarios
  • Collaborate with product managers, scrum masters, project managers, engineers, testers, designers, and analysts throughout the product lifecycle
  • Train in-house users to use analytics systems and data marts
  • Monitor and check automated data processes
  • Ability to understand different technology system components to debug data issues
  • Curate and organize the wiki of data knowledge and documentation
  • SQL experience and knowledge (SQL, T-SQL, PL/SQL)
Required Skills:
  • 2 to 3 years of experience and knowledge of supporting analytical initiatives and data development (ETL, cube creation, ad hoc reporting, data extracts, and dashboard creation) of a complex nature with minimal supervision
  • Ability to analyze existing ETL and SQL code to write mapping specifications
  • Experience with data access methods to retrieve data from dimensional data warehouses and relational databases
  • Basic knowledge of working with large unstructured datasets like web impressions
  • Basic knowledge of scripting languages like Python and statistical software packages
  • Proven ability to create and execute SQL queries, pivot tables and reports from database sources
  • Ability to explain data warehouse concepts and data models
  • Have a broad understanding with real-time analytics and business intelligence visualization tools such as Tableau
  • Data modeling experience (at a conceptual/logical level)
  • Able to work in stressful situation when insights on data sets is required quickly
  • Curiosity to dive into the available data and enjoy searching for patterns
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills so that complex topics are presented in clear, concise language
  • Positive, people-oriented, tenacious, and energetic attitude that enjoys discovering and solving problems
  • Analytical, creative, and innovative approach to solving problems
  • Able to learn new systems and technologies quickly
  • Familiar with project management activities like milestone definition, risk mitigation and issue tracking
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
