About The Position

Are you interested in building a data platform from the ground up? Comfortable selecting the tools and designing how they work? Want to build a real time analytics platform? Can you think broadly as well as dive deep into the technology? Then Raise is looking for you.

The Senior Data Warehouse Engineer is an integral part of our Data Engineering Team. You will be part of the core team responsible for creating a new data platform, which will help power business decisions. This role will focus on designing and scaling our analytics platform to help the analytics team make better decisions and drive data insights by ingesting, streaming and batching sources of data.

Responsibilities

• Build and configure solutions that provide an analytics platform used to house all types of data across the enterprise to create a holistic representation of the customer


• Select the tool(s) that will bring data into the warehouse from streaming systems, files and APIs


• Work to create data models to hold the data either at the enterprise level or a data mart level


• Implement data pipelines to automate the ingestion, transformation and augmentation of both structured and unstructured data sources


• Provide best practices for pipeline operations


• Work with colleagues in the transactional and streaming platform to ensure all transactions make it into the warehouse


• Work with other business groups to integrate sources of data into the warehouse


• Ensure all necessary transactions make it into the analytics platform


• Ensure the analytics platform is up, running, backed up and performance is being monitored for optimal user performance


• Work with Business Analysts, Application Developers and Data Scientists to implement solutions using Agile methods.


• Drive the concept of metadata management across the organization and evangelize the use

Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years experience handling large datasets and working with a variety of data sources including APIs, files and streaming


• Experience with a variety of database platforms, including a hosted platform, and expertise in leading cloud technologies like Amazon Web Services


• Firm understanding of dimensional modeling concepts and experience with at least one modeling tool


• Extensive experience with ETL or ELT tools, leading the tool selection, design, and implementation of data loading from a variety of sources


• Excellent communication and listening skills working with business and technical stakeholders


• 5+ years of data manipulation using tools or languages.


• 3+ years working in an Agile environment


• Ability to communicate technical concepts, possibilities and limitations to a non-technical audience


• High attention to detail and constructive attitude in peer code reviews


• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or comparable experience
