Groupon is seeking an International Tax Senior Manager to join our rapidly growing international tax function and be an integral part of the team. This role presents an opportunity to take on challenging projects that impact Groupon’s worldwide effective tax rate and operations. 

In this role, you will be involved in complex cross border tax planning and compliance initiatives, local country and IRS controversy management, tackling complex business problems, and solving an occasional word game in a friendly, relaxed environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Support Groupon’s business initiatives with effective and efficient international tax planning

• Support the business on tax impacts structuring alternatives associated with M&A transactions

• Assist with IRS and local country controversy matters

• Assist with transfer pricing matters

• Manage tax analysts as needed

• Determine the impact of alternative structures and transaction flows

• Assist in ensuring global tax compliance

• Coordinate US and international tax consequences of operations

Required Qualifications:

• Must have at least 8 years of progressive experience with international tax matters for publicly traded multinational companies with significant foreign operations or equivalent experience at “Big Four” accounting firms

• Comprehensive understanding of US international tax rules (foreign tax credits, Subpart F, transfer pricing, etc.)

• Strong research skills

• Experience in international compliance (Forms 5471, 1118, etc.)

• Strong interpersonal communication skills

• A self starter who is execution focused

• Bachelors degree in finance or accounting

Desired Qualifications:

• CPA, Masters in Tax and/or JD/LLM in tax

• Ability to work independently

• Effective communication skills

• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

• Efficiently manage multiple priorities and handle complex projects in a rapidly changing environment
