The Sr Manager of Retention Marketing is responsible for the creation and optimization of all rewards and promotions to existing Grubhub and Seamless diners nationwide. He/she is a seasoned leader with a track record of success managing customer relationship marketing, brand loyalty, and retention programs. The Sr Manager serves as the owner and leader of all loyalty programs for Grubhub and Seamless, with accountability for program strategy, execution, and results across all channels. This leader will be the expert on loyalty programs for the entire organization and develop differentiated experiences to drive greater retention and loyalty. This includes ownership and evolution of Email, SMS and any other owned direct marketing channels.
This leader also owns creation of a promotions calendar, the results and order performance, and manages execution with channel teams for email, mobile, social and other media. He/she is responsible for maximizing return on investment, tracking, monitoring, testing, research, forecasting and budgeting all programs, ensuring smooth execution through partnering with all involved parties and achieving sales and growth targets.
This leader will also work with our Tech team to identify and launch of new promo tools and marketing capabilities to drive automation and targeting.
The function needs to interact with all functions in the organization including but not limited to:
- Creative: Execution of promotional activities
- Finance: Financial analysis and concessions spend forecasting
- Technology: Product roadmap for new capabilities for retention
- Care Operations: Preparing customer service for upcoming events
- Database and Insights: For customer analysis and selection
- Email and Social: For deployment and dynamic campaign management
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and manage programs to increase diner spend and life cycle retention
- Coordinate loyalty efforts across all channels and functional areas to integrate loyalty into all marketing programs; manage program to meet or exceed goals
- Manage monthly sales and costs forecasts and develop annual sales & cost budget
- Oversee the analysis for all CRM marketing efforts and make recommendations on programs that best support the brand and provide acceptable ROI
- Act as key liaison in the development of programs that interact with loyalty team
- Initiate/execute and analyze all tests carried out in promotional activities to increase return on investment
- Analyze competitive marketplace and follow trends
- Communicate results to brand partners and Executive Leadership
- Oversee and develop direct reports on Email team
Required Experience
- Seven to ten years experience in B2C with a focus on retention marketing
- Strong and accomplished background and experience in all CRM disciplines (analog and digital), including consulting (strategy and analytics) and digital marketing (strategy, creative, production)
- Significant project management experience
- Extensive knowledge of personalized marketing via online and offline channels
- Proven track record in business planning and financial forecasting
- Demonstrated leadership in providing technology and process change
- Must thrive in a fast paced environment
- Strategic, analytical and creative thinker
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Retail/consumer products experience preferred
- An entrepreneurial mindset with the rigor and discipline to build the business and creative competencies that will allow us to stand out in the market
- Broad business acumen and strong grasp of business strategy and the ability to assess and analyze opportunities
Education:
- Bachelors degree required with preferred concentration in either Finance, Marketing, or Business
