Rise Interactive (http://www.riseinteractive.com), a rapidly growing full service interactive advertising agency, is looking to hire a Senior Manager, Technical Operations into the Innovation team. We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly motivated individual contributor that is excited about joining a new Innovation department and contributing professionally to an entrepreneurial company with an expanding Fortune 500 client base.

Summary and Scope

As a Senior Manager, Technical Operations you will lead a team that builds and maintain our various product and development platforms. This position is an leadership and operational engineering role working with all of our product development teams. You should be a champion of DevOps, a player/coach who can mentor both by showing and doing but also through holding your team accountable for results. You should be an excellent communicator and able to bring the rest of the team along with you in designing and building infrastructure solutions. You should anticipate your customer’s needs and define the plan of action for your team to exceed those needs. Given a mission like "figure out how to move our application from Azure to AWS" or "build a continuous integration system for the team", you should be able to put the entire system together and come up with end-to-end solutions. You should be proactively looking for holes in our platform that can/should be filled from an operational stability and scalability standpoint. You will influence, prototype and determine what technologies to use at Rise.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the team that scales our infrastructure in an automated fashion
  • Own the infrastructure and treat it as a product by conceiving of appropriate solutions, designing and implementing automation services that improve the resiliency of the platform
  • Mentor other team members on relevant technologies
  • Owns and leads the resolution of production issues / outages
  • Defines and participates in an off hours support on-call rotation
  • Ensures customer needs are clearly understood and met as it pertains to SLAs and OLAs
  • Defines and ensures business continuity and disaster recovery processes are executable by full team
  • Provide tooling to all of engineering
  • Patch and maintain Windows and Linux servers
  • Maintain and evolve Active Directory forest and system integrations
  • Collaborating with other Innovation team members, define and evolve Production, QA, Dev and other environmental change control processes
  • Ensure security requirements, policies and regulations are understood and met by Product and IT teams
  • Builds a strong relationship with vendor contacts
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Required Skills
  • 10+ Years of Development and Technical Operations
  • Programming experience in shell, Python, PowerShell or similar scripting language
  • Automation using Chef, Puppet, TeamCity or similar technologies
  • Windows server administration; Linux server administration with RedHat, Centos or similar
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) features such as EC2, EMR, and ElastiCache
  • Some Microsoft Azure familiarity for managing Azure infrastructure
  • High-volume data system administration and troubleshooting with tools such as SQL Server, Cassandra, Redshift
  • Web server administration using IIS and/or Apache
  • Active Directory administration
  • Knowledge of agile processes (Scrum / Kanban) beneficial
  • Processes definition and implementation
  • Demonstrates strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Demonstrates exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to clearly and thoroughly document processes and procedures
  • Ability to correctly identify problems and recommend and implement solutions
  • Possesses a positive and professional attitude, even during hectic periods
  • Ability to effectively plan and re-prioritize tasks and needs throughout the day, week, and month
