Senior Marketing Director | New York City or Chicago

Sittercity, a fast-paced and dynamic web company founded in 2001, operates a highly-successful subscription service that has connected over 7 millions families with pre-screened caregivers. In early 2015, Sittercity launched Chime, a new, on-demand babysitting service that’s now available in NYC, Chicago, Boston and DC.
Under the Sittercity brand, we will continue to innovate and focus on subscription services nationwide. At the same time, the Chime brand represents an opportunity to pioneer a much larger market by bringing the convenience of on-demand technology to bear on everyday babysitting needs in top markets. The Chime service is already live (and loved!) and we are now ramping up our operations, product and marketing.
We are currently searching for an experienced marketing leader who can help drive our success across both brands. The candidate for the role described below will report to the CMO and play a pivotal role in generating value in the Sittercity model and growing the Chime brand nationally.

Overview
The Senior Marketing Director will primarily be responsible for defining, managing and optimizing our performance marketing activities across Sittercity and Chime, and ideally will make significant contributions to our brand marketing and “ground game” efforts as we roll out Chime in key markets/neighborhoods. The right candidate will bring experience across channels, and a strategic discipline to our marketing efforts that is informed by both data and brand. S/he will be experienced managing both internal teams and external resources, with strong communication skills and an ability to understand our challenges, identify priorities and organize swift implementation. And ideally, s/he will have experience in marketing for both web and mobile apps.  

Position responsibilities

• Help define marketing strategy, connecting business goals to brands, markets and   channels—across both web and mobile platforms
• Help define and manage marketing budgets across channels and partners
• Manage performance marketing efforts, including but not limited to SEM, display/retargeting, paid social, affiliate marketing and direct mail
• Help manage brand awareness and grassroots marketing activities, including but not limited to content and social media marketing, OOH and local “ground game” tactics
• Help manage a small internal team of marketers in New York City and Chicago
• Manage external relationships, including media platforms, consultants and creative agencies
• Track and report on performance/attribution across channels in an integrated, clear manner
• Collaborate with and present to business leadership
• Participate constructively in marketing team reviews and critiques
• Provide input into product, service experience and operations plans

Requirements

• At least 8-10 years of experience in digital marketing for websites and/or mobile apps, ideally with offline experience
• Deep experience across performance marketing channels
• Experience with brand awareness, content marketing, social and grassroots campaigns
• Experience using digital media platforms — in particular, familiarity with all or some of the following a plus: Google, Kenshoo, Social.com, Sizmek, Target Data
• Experience implementing and utilizing marketing technology tools to enable attribution and tracking across mobile and desktop marketing campaigns
• Demonstrated success working with both established and new brands
• Experience working for brands focused on parents / moms a plus
• Experience managing internal teams and external agencies
• BA required, MBA a plus
