The primary responsibilities of this senior role are ensuring day-to-day operational tasks are carried out by systems and support staff and providing technical guidance for projects. These tasks include systems and job monitoring, responding to alarms, supporting our applications. The Systems Support Lead will report to the Sr. Manager, IT.

 

Responsibilities

• Coordinate systems, network, and application changes and upgrades
• Ownership of monitoring and alarming
• Manage escalations and SLAs
• Communicate status of system events, both planned and unplanned
• Ensure change control policies are followed
• Recommend changes and updates to our infrastructure based on testing, observation, and best practices
• Work independently and manage projects
• Stay current with HIPAA regulations and best practices

 

Requirements

• 6+ years of systems and network administration in a support organization such as a NOC
• Strong knowledge of Internet protocols
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Operating systems
• Strong knowledge of Linux and/or other Unix based systems
• Strong networking skills
• Systems programming in Perl/Python/Shell/VB
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work on deadline and communicate effectively with management and end users
