About The Position

 

 

Raise is looking for a user-centered designer who has a passion for creating exceptional user experiences, understands ecommerce, and can translate qualitative and quantitative data into useful and usable experiences. As a Senior User Experience Designer you will work as part of the Raise Experience Design (XD) team, collaborating with the Director of UX, UX designers and product designers. You will be expected to deliver insights and designs that shape the future direction of Raise products, services and policies. This is a contract-to-hire position, reporting to our Director of XD.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

 


  • Work with other members of the XD Team to define effective design solutions that meet users' expectations and are easy to use

  • Demonstrate awareness of business goals while striving for a highly usable and engaging end-to-end user experience that implements best practices for user experience design, leveraging industry standards

  • Demonstrate an ability to clearly understand an end user’s perspective from user research, and provide design recommendations accordingly, creating task flows, navigation patterns, information architecture, concept diagrams, user journeys, and any other design artifacts

  • Turn ideas into presentable concepts and translate those concepts into design recommendations that achieve simplicity, despite the inherent complexity of processes being supported

  • Produce standardized, best-in-class UX deliverables including information graphics to elucidate user research insights, navigation, and user interfaces with sitemaps, paper prototypes, wireframes, and screen mockups as needed

  • Work across various lifecycle stages, from initial definition to continuous enhancement

  • Ensure all UI definition and development is consistent with usability standards, best practices, and strategy

Skills & Qualifications

 

 


  • 3-8 years experience in UX & Visual Design for business or enterprise applications, including designing for web and mobile

  • Formal degree in Design, Fine Arts, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors (CUA™), or related field, or equivalent work experience

  • Strong portfolio featuring design work that showcases information architecture, interaction design, information design, visual design, and mobile design skills

  • An undeniable passion for creating great user interfaces that solve real user problems

  • Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, careful attention to detail, and ability to grasp complex, nuanced product requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially the ability to clearly articulate design decisions with stakeholders and development teams, and keep UX and project team leads up to date

  • Solid experience designing for mobile applications with a focus on delivering engaging user experiences

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams (including UX, business consulting, product management, technology and engineering)

  • Exposure to basic user research techniques such as contextual inquiry, user interviews, usability testing, as well as a solid understanding of how to incorporate insights from user research into the user interface design process

  • Excellent knowledge of design tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Axure, etc. and the ability to quickly create working prototypes in HTML or tools like Axure is also highly desirable
