We are looking for a talented Senior Visual Designer who is passionate about creating smart, beautiful, and polished web and mobile products that solve complex problems and generate meaningful business value.

Position:

Shiftgig is actively seeking an Senior Visual Designer who is an excellent thinker, has limitless creativity, and can be a mentor. We are looking for a self-starter who can collaborate with the UX team and translate the UX work into clean and beautiful visuals.

What you'll do:

The Senior Visual Designer will work with the Creative Director, UX Designers, Product Managers, and Engineering to help plan and execute visual designs for iOS, Android, and web projects. This position reports directly to the Creative Director (who reports to the VP of Product). The successful candidate will work on all Shiftgig’s current projects, initiatives, and future visioning.

You must be comfortable: generating great designs, based on scope, wireframes, and style guide, in a fast-paced agile environment; sketching those ideas; and bringing them to life in low to high fidelity visual designs. You will manage multiple projects in tandem with a multi-disciplinary team, estimate the level of effort at sprint planning meetings, and create deliverables such as final designs and prototypes.

• Designing solutions that meet or exceed strategic objectives

• Creating highly usable interface solutions focused on user experience and clean design, with primary concentration on iOS, Android, and web

• Leading a project or group of projects with limited input from an Creative Director

• Guiding and directing a mid-level designer with thorough delegation, follow-up and mentoring

• Rationalizing solutions with the project team and clients

• Balancing creative requirements with client business requirements

• Designing: mood boards; storyboards; interactive page layouts; site grids and interface demos; photo retouching and enhancements; animated GIFs

• Providing quality assurance on creative deliverables

• Visualize and verbalize your ideas to team

What you'll need:

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience across verticals and platforms and be able to articulate your work in presentations to peers and Executives.

• Strong design portfolio with focus on style guides and brand guides as well as web, iOS, and Android design

• Bachelor's Degree in Design

• 4-5+ years design and interactive work experience in a start up, in-house, or agency environment, mobile-first design experience

• Excellent judgement and communication skills, including presentation skills

• Ability to articulate creative ideas

• Proven aptitude for quick creative thinking with acute attention to detail within demanding deadlines

• A solid working knowledge of the latest versions of Mac OS, Sketch 3, and Adobe Suite

• Experience designing for native mobile apps (iOS and Android), responsive browser experiences, and web apps

• Exceptional collaborative team player with the ability to rally teammates around proposed solutions

• Independently motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision

• Passion for clean well articulated design that is cohesive

• Extremely detail-oriented down to pixel-perfect implementation

• Understands and has worked UX Design

• Startup experience preferred
