We are looking for an SEO Associate to join our Chicago office. You’ll work as part of the Digital Marketing team to make recommendations that will drive business growth in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

The Digital Marketing team drives business results by translating market and consumer insights into actionable strategies and tactics to attract, convert, and retain customers. The SEO Associate will be responsible for creating and executing different campaigns to adapt with the ever-evolving SEO landscape. The role requires analytical and creative skills to understand and identify trends and opportunities.

The role will work closely with various teams and stakeholders so strong organizational and communication skills are a must.

What we will want you to do:

• Analyze SEO trends and keyword performance using a broad variety of tools
• Recommend opportunities based on analysis and thorough understanding of key SEO metrics
• Develop action items for the team based on findings
• Create SEO deliverables, including: keyword research/mapping, on-page optimization elements (e.g. title tags/meta descriptions), link acquisition strategy, preparation of SEO point of view/decks and digital performance reporting
• Make recommendations for content changes to web pages
• Monitor and optimize taxonomy choices for navigation, URLs and page headings
• Recommend opportunities to improve site-wide navigation and internal link architecture based on business objectives
• Perform technical site audit and resolve issues
• Analyze and track link building campaigns
• Continually decode Google’s algorithm and tame the “Google zoo” (Panda, Penguin, etc.)

Skills or Experience we want you to have:

• Bachelor's degree
• 1-2 years of practical experience in SEO/online marketing, agency
• Understanding of technical aspects of SEO, including search ranking factors, information architecture content optimization, link building, SEO audits, metadata
• Proven ability to focus on key metrics and deliver quantifiable results
• Proficiency with Excel
• Proficiency with Looker, Adobe Analytics, and SEO analysis tools (e.g. keyword research and backlink checking)

Bonus points if you have:

• Experience with local SEO
• Experience in consumer financial services
• Startup experience
• Experience with HTML/CSS
