Social Media Manager
About the Role
The Social Media Manager is responsible for developing and implementing social media strategies for our clients, while also contributing to the development of blog and newsletter content. You will write compelling copy, create campaigns, manage ad budgets and measure growth, and interact with clients and customers through social media monitoring. Your contributions will play a vital role in the growth of our social media and editorial teams, as well as Yakkety Yak’s inbound and content marketing services.

Responsibilities
Play an active role in the development and execution of high-quality, journalistic content for customers looking to enhance their marketing and communication strategies.
Manage editorial calendars for the agency’s array of clients.
Write engaging social media copy that enhances client’s voice and tone.
Work alongside graphic design team to develop engaging visual elements.
Research clients’ online presence to better understand their brand and vision.
Schedule social media content and monitor brand engagement.
Analyze brand performance.
Manage ad campaigns for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Pinterest.
Contribute to greater content objectives by creating to blog, newsletter, and web-based content.
Contribute innovative brand strategies in an effort to exceed clients’ revenue and engagement expectations.
About You
Yakkety Yak is a fast-paced, startup environment where marketing and editorial excellence is considered a core competency and employees are expected to continually improve upon this excellence. The ideal candidate for this position has the following:
Bachelor's degree with relevant coursework (journalism, communications, English, marketing).
2-3 years of agency experience.
Background in writing and editing, showcasing the ability to adopt the style, tone, and voice of a wide range of businesses across multiple types of content. Storytellers encouraged!
Experience writing engaging social media content.
Experience running ad campaigns through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram LinkedIn and Pinterest
Extensive knowledge of various social media platforms.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks simultaneously. Creativity is a must, but taking deadlines seriously is essential, so you have to be able to work under pressure.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Able to take your own initiative, own your work, but also work collaboratively with teammates in all departments of the agency.
Open to constructive feedback from Managing Editor and Editor-In-Chief.
Technical Skills
HubSpot Inbound Certification (to be completed after receiving offer and before start date)
HubSpot Content Marketing Training (to be completed after starting)
Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Extensive knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest
Experienced in SEO and organic marketing
Email automation in platforms including Constant Contact and MailChimp
