Swap.com is looking for a new Social Media Manager to help build and oversee the social media strategy while executing the day-to-day activities of posting thoughtful content that drives audience engagement and monitoring social media chatter. This position reports to the Senior Public Relations Manager and will work in lockstep with PR to ensure all public relations and social media efforts are aligned in message and meets the overall needs of the business. Additionally, the Social Media Manager will collaborate across digital marketing, merchandising and technology departments for content needs as well as to support business and marketing initiatives.

It’s important to emphasize that the expectations of this position extend beyond simply posting content every day. Each post must drive engagement with the brand and grow our audience. This person is a team player and doesn’t wait to be told what to do, but rather asks for what they need to be successful and happy in their role. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, oversee and execute the Swap.com social media strategy that aligns with the goals, voice and values of the business. Identify target audiences and cadence and content type by channel (i.e. Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest).
  • Report into the Senior Public Relations Manager and work in lockstep to extend reach and to ensure all social media and public relations programs support each other and have a consistent brand message.
  • Collaborate across all departments, including digital marketing, merchandising and executive management for fresh content ideas and needs. Initiate team brainstorms as needed.
  • Develop growth strategy to increase social audiences organically through best practices and compelling programs and promotions that excites and encourages participation.
  • Partner with the paid digital marketing team to evaluate and recommend a social media advertising strategy.
  • Create an editorial calendar that incorporates relevant content as it makes sense for the brand, including major events, holidays, etc.
  • Manage creative and merchandising teams as needed with clear direction on specific content and project needs and external and internal deadlines.
  • Seek out and identify new ideas and opportunities by monitoring best brand practices, benchmarking and ongoing analysis of what’s performing and not performing.
  • Post across channels daily and monitor chatter. Ongoing engagement with customers and influencers. 


Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of in-house or agency experience leading and executing a social media marketing strategy with demonstrated success in creating and executing campaigns that drove engagement and grew audiences.
  • Excellent project and time management skills with the ability to identify priorities and reorganize as needed.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as the ability to think analytically and critically.
  • Intermediate knowledge of WordPress, Excel.
