The Software Business Analyst will work directly with clients to gather requirements, and be the technical liaison between the software development team and clients in an agile environment. The Business Analyst will work closely with Product owners on complex projects in assisting with project direction and requirements gathering. The Business Analyst will also work closely with the development team to clarify acceptance criteria, test functionality, and accept completed user stories.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist Highland's Agile Product Owners by conducting business and technical analysis sessions to support new development efforts to meet current and projected business needs
• Provide expertise on the systems capabilities/limitations as it relates to business goals
• Prepare use cases and formal requirements documentation
• Platform (Magento/SugarCRM) testing/QA responsibility
• Drive the implementation of technology and process solutions from concept to completion
• Provide analysis and support for the project management, application development, and QA teams
• throughout the development lifecycle
• Assist/Author in the development of test plans
• Assist/Author in the development of training and/or technical documentation
• Communicates needed changes to development teams
• Assists in enforcement of project deadlines and schedules
• Ensure all client deliverables meet software quality objectives
• Document application test plans based on software requirements and technical specifications.
• Summarize and communicate the test strategies
• Participate in User Acceptance Testing with the client stakeholders and SME's

Education/Skills

• Excellent stakeholder management skills
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills with the ability to speak confidently
• Strong analytical capability and attention to detail
• Experience in all phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC)
• Excellent testing and quality assurance execution skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology preferred. 
• 2+ years of proven experience in Software Testing, with specific experience testing Web-based applications preferred.
• Software Development experience is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate effectively with clients
• Ability to manage multiple projects at one time, often with changing requirements as agile team needs may dictate

Work Experience

• 3-5 years experience conducting workshops for business requirements gathering
• Platform experience preferred
• Experience in the development of detailed documentation of business requirements, business process modelling and business use cases in both technical and non-technical languages
• Experience with requirements reviews with developers and other stakeholders such as product owners
• Experience with software testing preferred (Functional, Integration, Regression, User Acceptance, and Release Management)
• Knowledge of Agile Scrum development practices and how they pertain to Quality Assurance needs
