About the Role:
Support Devs at Braintree help merchants in a meaningful way by using their development chops to assist with integration and ongoing support where our APIs are concerned. At heart of what we do best is deliver white glove support for elegant technology. The Support Developer role sits at the intersection of these two things that make us renowned.
Responsibilities:
Build integrations in a plethora of languages: Ruby, Python, PHP, Java, Node.js, .NET and more.
Define best practices for merchants implementing payment processing logic
Update our API documentation and deploy updates
Work with our Product Managers to discuss the features that our customers most frequently request
Resolve support tickets from merchant developers
Explain to a merchant developer why they are seeing behavior they didn’t expect and be able to de-bug a snippet of code
Find and fix bugs in our software based on a support question
Design a workaround for a use case that’s not yet directly supported
Take the occasional incoming phone call from a developer with integration questions
Migrate customer data from other payment processors into Braintree’s vault
Requirements:
Programming foundation in Ruby + Rails, Python, PHP, Node.js, Java, .NET or any other modern language
Working knowledge of one or several object-oriented or functional programming languages.
Linux/Unix command line
General web development skills in HTML, CSS, or JavaScript
SQL a plus
Version Control: Git preferred
