The Systems Adminsitrator role at kCura focuses on the infrastructure, applications, and tools used by the Product Development department. As a member of the IT-DevOps team, the role assists in the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of our expanding SDLC infrastructure. The role will provide support to all Development teams.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Development teams to better understand the
  • development processes and workflows
  • Provide operational support to Development teams.
  • Analyze infrastructure, applications, and tools used by Development
  • teams and recommend changes to improve processes and performance
  • Assist in forecasting future IT infrastructure needs by knowing past and
  • current infrastructure demand and knowing how Development teams’ roadmaps
  • will affect infrastructure demand.
  • Keep on top of industry trends and technology, both on the development
  • side and the more traditional IT side

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2 years in an IT System Administrator role directly supporting software
  • development
  • Proven scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, Ruby)
  • Experience administering both Windows and Linux servers
  • Familiarity with virtualization concepts
  • Familiarity with cloud-based technologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to
  • communicate difficult technical concepts in a straight-forward, simple manner
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, team-oriented environment
  • Ability to maintain a calm demeanor when things are going wrong in order
  • to troubleshoot issues effectively

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with continuous integration or continuous deployment
  • processes
  • Experience with source code repositories, automated deployment, and
  • automated testing (Bitbucket and Jenkins a plus)
  • Hands-on experience with virtualization, VMware or Hyper-V a plus · Hands-on experience with cloud-based technologies, Azure a plus · Experience with Chef · Experience with Agile methodologies
