Systems Administrator

The Systems Adminsitrator role at kCura focuses on the infrastructure, applications, and tools used by the Product Development department. As a member of the IT-DevOps team, the role assists in the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of our expanding SDLC infrastructure. The role will provide support to all Development teams.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Development teams to better understand the
- development processes and workflows
- Provide operational support to Development teams.
- Analyze infrastructure, applications, and tools used by Development
- teams and recommend changes to improve processes and performance
- Assist in forecasting future IT infrastructure needs by knowing past and
- current infrastructure demand and knowing how Development teams’ roadmaps
- will affect infrastructure demand.
- Keep on top of industry trends and technology, both on the development
- side and the more traditional IT side
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2 years in an IT System Administrator role directly supporting software
- development
- Proven scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, Ruby)
- Experience administering both Windows and Linux servers
- Familiarity with virtualization concepts
- Familiarity with cloud-based technologies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to
- communicate difficult technical concepts in a straight-forward, simple manner
- Ability to work in a fast paced, team-oriented environment
- Ability to maintain a calm demeanor when things are going wrong in order
- to troubleshoot issues effectively
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with continuous integration or continuous deployment
- processes
- Experience with source code repositories, automated deployment, and
- automated testing (Bitbucket and Jenkins a plus)
- Hands-on experience with virtualization, VMware or Hyper-V a plus · Hands-on experience with cloud-based technologies, Azure a plus · Experience with Chef · Experience with Agile methodologies
