The IT Systems Administrator reports to the IT Manager and is part of the team responsible for administration and availability of all IT infrastructure.  This person will install, configure, and deploy new systems, perform upgrades and maintenance, and complete IT-related projects.  Additional duties include resolving trouble tickets and assisting other technical departments.

 

Performance Objectives/Job Duties

  • Manage multiple large-scale IIS and SQL environments with strict uptime and performance requirements.
  • Setup and configure Active Directory, Exchange, Lync, SharePoint, and other Microsoft applications across multiple logical and physical sites.
  • Administer SIP-based phone system used by employees in all corporate offices.
  • Ensure continuous health of systems through monitoring/alerting tools.
  • Setup backup and replication jobs, verify success and conduct regular testing.
  • Create and update PowerShell scripts to automate manual processes.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and perform off-hours work as needed.
Requirements

Experience Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on administration in AD/Windows environments
  • MCSA 2008 or 2012 certification or equivalent skillset
  • Experience with Active Directory in a multi-site and/or multi-domain environment
  • Experience with IIS, along with strong knowledge of HTTPS and load-balancing
  • Experience with SQL, working knowledge of clustering, monitoring, backups, and basic queries
  • Experience with installation/configuration of Exchange 2010 or 2013
  • Solid understanding of backups, monitoring, and security best practices.
  • Working knowledge of networking and virtualization.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to multitask, while still meeting ticket and project deadlines.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • A strong love of learning and a willingness to take on new challenges.
