Systems Engineer
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with planning and coordination for office relocations, new builds and acquisitions
Assist with budgeting and forecasting; review and approve purchase requests relating to IT infrastructure
Maintain the server stack in all Groupon offices (including Active Directory, DFS, NPS, WSUS, and WDS), optimising the configuration to improve end user productivity
Maintain and update tools for the Support Services team, including OS images, scripts, and associated infrastructure
Manage Group Policy
Coordinate patching and deployment of software updates
Manage backup jobs, monitoring, restorations and disaster recovery
Perform Active Directory administration tasks and assist with infrastructure optimisation
Identify improvements and develop solutions and automations for routine and repetitive tasks
Develop and maintain technical and procedural documentation
Engage regularly with Support Services and Network/Telecom Teams to assist with implementation of projects and ensure new technologies and solutions are properly documented and managed
Maintain close liaison with Globally based colleagues, actively participating in architecture discussions and ensuring alignment on all processes and standards
Ensure SLA’s, target response times and recovery time objectives are met
Participate in on-call rotations and processes across multiple global teams
Expertly handle escalated tickets, rapidly responding and resolving technical crisis situations

Skills and qualities are required:
* Experience supporting Linux (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu) and Windows 2008/2012 environments
* Experience administering/supporting an Active Directory Environment
* Knowledge of server technologies like DHCP, DNS, NTP, RADIUS, SAML, LDAP, and other various 3-4 letter acronyms
* Experience with VMWare ESXi and vSphere
* Ability to program in at least two common scripting languages such as: BASH, PowerShell, Ruby, Python, or Perl
* Capable of working in a fast paced environment
* 5-10 years IT experience
