This role will assist in the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of our expanding development operations infrastructure. The role will work with development teams to assist in the software development process with a mind towards our IT infrastructure. The role will provide support to Engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Be a source of expertise for infrastructure, server provisioning and administration, policy
  • enforcement, monitoring, and metrics on systems used by Development.
  • Focus on the infrastructure, applications, tools, and automation used by Development, e.g. source
  • code management, code builds, automated testing and provisioning.
  • Oversee all infrastructure components of the SDLC, including development pipeline environments.
  • Seek, identify, recommend, and document improvements to current processes.
  • Strategize, plan, prioritize, schedule, and partner with Development in the execution of new
  • solutions.
  • Assist in strategic direction and planning for growth to support our increasing business needs
  • Provide support for the testing of new and existing software applications under development.
  • Be an escalation point in troubleshooting environments as problems arise, test fixes, and perform
  • follow-ups to ensure problems have been adequately resolved.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience and expertise with virtualization in enterprise environments (30+ hosts, thousands of VMs)
  • Experience administering both Windows and Linux servers
  • Experience in infrastructure automation and configuration compliance.
  • Proven scripting experience in PowerShell and Ruby.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate difficult technical concepts in a straight-forward, simple manner.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to maintain a calm demeanor when things are going wrong in order to troubleshoot issues effectively

Preferred Qualifications

  • Virtualization - Hyper-V and System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM)
  • Cloud Services – Azure a plus, Amazon Web Services, or other cloud offerings
  • Infrastructure Automation - Chef or SCCM a plus
  • Experience with supporting software development and the SDLC
  • Experience with continuous deployment tools - Jenkins a plus
  • Experience with Atlassian products, e.g. Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket
  • Familiarity with ISO27001 and/or SOC2 compliance
  • Bachelor's degree
