As a global leader in local commerce, Groupon sees a wide range of unique and emerging tax issues.
We are looking for a Tax Analyst to join our tax team to help Groupon face these issues head on. The successful candidate will become an integral player in Groupon’s Tax Department, with the role offering numerous opportunities to build processes necessary for tax reporting, compliance, and planning.
You will have access to some of the top experts in the field as we complete each project. And, you get to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.
Responsibilities may include:
- Prepare calculations related to federal and state tax returns
- Assist in the tax provision process, both for US GAAP and statutory accounting purposes.
- Participate in tax examinations and audits
- Maintain the team’s tax documentation
- Research and conclude on the tax implications of business transactions undertaken by Groupon
- Prepare written memorandums to document/support audit activity and research conclusions
- Assist with miscellaneous tax reporting activities, including state franchise registrations, and forms 1099-K
- Prepare tax models
- Use OneSource and all of the other wonderful toys we have.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
- CPA certification preferred, MST a plus
- 1+ years of public accounting, consulting, or equivalent corporate experience a plus
- Strong computer skills, including Excel and hopefully tax compliance software
- Strong organization, analytical, and inter-personal skills
