About the Role
The Technical Writer role is an opportunity to gain exposure to broad facets of Eved’s business, customers and product capabilities.
The Technical Writer is responsible for creating and maintaining client facing and internal user guides. They will act as a liaison between product management and the support team to ensure clear understanding of Eved functionality. Success in this role depends upon excellent communication, technical writing, organizational and time management skills, as well as the ability to consider long term instructional design.
Reports to Vice President, Development.
Responsibilities include:
- Document
all information, in detail, pertaining to each technology release
- Compose
help documents for use in the online knowledge base
- Understand and meet metrics provided by management to ensure service levels to customers are met, i.e. training documentation internally and externally
- Provide input to help continuously improve technical and customer support processes and service levels
- Define and implement instructional library for new hires
- Assist with additional projects as requested
- Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse opportunities
- Create and maintain the information architecture
- Create tutorials to help end-users use the different parts of the site
- Work with cross-functional teams to create and edit documents, including easy-to-understand user guides, quick-start guides, training materials and release notes.
- A bachelor’s degree is required
- 1-2 years in technical writing
- Previous experience in instructional design is preferred
- Strong working knowledge of computer applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, HTML, Desk.com, Salesforce, JIRA, and SharePoint)
- Friendly, clear, and concise written communication skills
