What are we looking for?

Cision is looking for an experienced marketing and communications professional to lead our content strategy and content operations. We’re at an exciting juncture in our history, and content is critical to our growth strategy. This person will oversee all content operations, including a team of content marketers, strategists, and graphic designers. Reporting directly to the SVP of Marketing, this person will partner cross functionally with senior leaders from demand generation, client advocacy, and marketing operations to take an integrated approach in helping us achieve our comprehensive marketing strategy.

The Job:

• Conduct media research and develop insights to inform the content strategy.


• Develop content strategy to position Cision as the key thought leader in an emerging space.


• Establish an integrated marketing content calendar to fully support demand generation activities 


• Develop broad positioning and brand story for Cision globally


• Accountable for all content initiatives to drive traffic, engagement, and leads that deliver sales and customer retention


• Collaborates across functions to deliver an effective content marketing strategy and editorial plan to meet business objectives


• Work across the different marketing functions to understand business objectives and drive content creation


• Manage team of content marketers, strategists, graphic designers, and other content operations


• Learn public relations software solutions and convey those solutions in an effective way to our audience

You Have:

• 10-15 years of writing, editing, and marketing/communication strategy experience


• Deep understanding of marketing analytics


• Experience leading geographically dispersed teams, travel required to remote offices


• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Journalism, Communications or other business related field. MBA preferred in related field.


• A passion for thought leadership content


• Ability to clearly convey vision and operate in a dynamic environment


• Knowledge of AP style & Public Relations space


• The ability to work on a collaborative team


• Required knowledge of PowerPoint, Word and Excel


• Experience creating content for the web and growing a social audience
