 POSITION OVERVIEW:

 

LGS seeks a seasoned, dynamic marketer to act as its new Vice President of Marketing. The VP of Marketing will be responsible for defining the overall marketing strategy for LGS, and for leading the planning and execution of all marketing efforts for the company. This will include retail marketing across channels (online + brick and mortar locations) as well as marketing to both customer segments (buyers and consignors).  LGS has recently closed its Series A fundraising round and is in hyper growth mode.  The VP of Marketing will become a critical member of the leadership team that will shape and drive that growth.  

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Define retail marketing strategy for LGS across channels, including overarching positioning and definition of marketing priorities based on a strategic analysis of customer, marketing mix, etc.

·         Build and develop a strong, cohesive Marketing team; actively coach team members and build their professional development plans

·         Create holistic, multi-channel marketing campaigns that incorporate in-store, digital, social, and external channels to tell a cohesive story with a consistent brand voice

·         Develop detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual marketing activation plans including identification of key themes, calendar of coordinated multi-channel activities, and budgets

·         Oversee customer acquisition and retention strategies, diversifying current mix to ensure sustained future growth

·         Develop and communicate a deep understanding of customer journeys and customer lifetime value by channel and segment, informing future strategies

·         Lead all public relations efforts, including definition of an impactful communications strategy, management of an outside agency, and planning of all media, industry, and internal activations

·         Act as the voice of the customer inside the organization; Collect customer and shopper insights and disseminate key learnings to the larger organization

·         Build and apply robust approach to measurement of marketing effectiveness/ROI; Ensure that measurement plans are created for each marketing activation, activities are measured and performance is critically evaluated in order to optimize go forward marketing spend

·         Manage marketing budget, including annual planning and day-to-day management

 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

·         5+ years in multi-channel retail marketing and strategy, start-up experience a plus

·         Master’s degree preferred; Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or related field required

·         Highly customer focused and passionate about addressing the customer’s needs

·         Strategic thinker with the ability to create a vision and translate it into action

·         Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and managing teams successfully

·         Strong analytical skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making

·         Previous experience leading digital initiatives such as SEM, SEO, Affiliate Marketing, and Social Media

·         Deep knowledge of either customer acquisition or retention, preferably both.

·         Deep knowledge of either paid or organic marketing, preferably both

·         Entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment

·         Reputation and track record as a creative, effective and resourceful marketer that has meaningfully contributed to building brands and businesses

·         Strategic thinker who has demonstrated ability to support and contribute to innovative and growth orientated marketing visions and initiatives

·         Ability to collaborate across functions; strong team player
