Description:

The Vice President, Business Development is primarily responsible for identifying and building relationships with prospects that will result in the purchase or buying of search and performance marketing services from the Performics and Publicis Groupe portfolio. This person will be responsible for expanding the Performics brand and business nationally across U.S. markets. Working in a highly entrepreneurial, creative and risk-taking environment, this is a great opportunity to influence the agency’s client mix and growth, leveraging its heritage, market presence, skill set and extensive relationship base.

The Vice President is required to establish, manage and execute an effective acquisition strategy for prospective enterprise search and performance marketing customers. The Vice President will work to increase qualified lead generation and close rates, leveraging Performics senior executives, client services and internal teams wisely and efficiently. This position will require experience in strategically servicing and closing multi-million dollar digital marketing assignments and deals in the areas of branding, digital marketing, strategy development, performance and search marketing.

This person must have the ability to create and execute an appropriate strategy for any qualified opportunity and be able to operate independently while working closely with others on a fluid team basis as required.

The position is responsible for overseeing the development and presentation of Performics new business value proposition/pitch story, structuring the overall deal (with decision makers, partners, sub-contractors), negotiating pricing and contractual terms and aligning with key third party influencers.

 

Responsibilities:

New Business Development

  • Identify, influence, pitch and close deals with potential customers leading and leveraging the Performics brand and team

Other Responsibilities

  • Work with strategic alliance partners to drive business opportunity and build revenue growth

Enterprise New Business Acquisition

  • Network within Publicis Groupe family (specifically ZenithOptimedia and Moxie) to understand and keep abreast of value propositions being developed and sold to other clients
  • Work with Performics IT/Publicis Groupe Resources to establish prospect tracking automation system for CRM, activity tracking and opportunity forecasting

Other projects and administrative tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6-8 years in digital and technology- related strategy and business development with at least 4 years of specific digital marketing services experience with Sr. level executives of Fortune 500 companies
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or technology related field
  • Masters degree in business would be a plus
  • Consistent track record of meeting or exceeding performance goals and responsibilities
  • Must have a background of leading business and strategy development (experience with major digital marketing agencies preferred)
  • History of establishing, expanding and closing complex, multi-million dollar marketing assignments and service engagements ($1+ million)
  • Excellent knowledge about the interactive marketing landscape
  • Deep category and competitive industry knowledge
  • Strong knowledge about target prospect pool
  • Network of prior relationships and contracts (senior level) is desirable
  • Ability to forecast with background details supporting your assessment
  • Ability to lead a team of people through complex new business process
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to make compelling presentations to an audience of diverse and senior business stakeholders
  • Ability and desire to be a visible industry thought leader and spokesperson
  • Strong organization, time management and prioritization skills
  • Ability to travel overnight to prospect sites as needed
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
