The company’s clients include four of the five largest banks and large corporations across industries including finance, defense and healthcare and has demonstrated strong year over year growth.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Identify competitive landscape
- Identify competitive advantage
- Meet with customers to understand their needs
- Envision products that achieve the company’s goals
- Prioritize development of each product
- Facilitate a team of product requirements analysts
- Operate on a strong basis of experience and opinion
- Take full responsibility for the products
CHARACTER TRAITS
- Has a clear, well documented vision
- Is interested in leveraging the knowledge of the team
- Never “passes the buck”.
- Measures their own success by the success of the products.
- Agrees with Ben Horowitz’ famous Good Product Manager / Bad Product
- Manager Manifesto but can find some interesting counterpoints to his thinking.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Has a reasonably up to date blog with some interesting opinions about product.
- Has a reasonably active twitter account, It doesn’t need to demonstrate thought-leadership, but that they are listening to various communities.
- Can talk ferociously about at least a single product they have shipped.
- Can intimately explain a career disaster and what they’ve done to mitigate.
- Has a corpus of documents they carry with them and improve throughout their career.
- Can tell us, in a constructive and concise way, why "we’re doing it wrong" and how to do it right.
