The Content Developer assists with the management of Varyer’s ongoing content and marketing needs, and focuses on managing and developing content on social media and other emerging platforms. Most specifically, for our retail brand Asrai Garden. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in social media, marketing, retail, and project management. This role reports to the Marketing & Growth Manager.

 Responsibilities

• Produce engaging and strategic content related to Varyer and Asrai Garden properties

• Develop and expand Varyer and Asrai Garden’s profile across social media and other emerging platforms, while working with a strategic roadmap, measuring success along the way

• Manage social media strategy and content for third party brands/clients, with an understanding and respect for their brand purpose and specific goals 

• Promoting internal happenings with creativity and boundary-pushing concepts, while maintaining and monitoring success, and documenting learnings for future initiatives

• Manage digital assets for varyer and asrai sites, including all media kits/websites/decks

Desired Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum of 2-4 years’ experience in social media and marketing

• Strong writing and editing skills, and the ability to develop and maintain consistency with a unique voice

• Strong visual acumen, including the ability to produce and select photographic content

• Basic understanding of Photoshop, Lightroom and Illustrator, as well as organizational applications (Google Drive/Docs, Keynote, Dropbox, Trello, etc)

• Elevated cultural instincts with a knowledge of interesting brands and how they use their voice

• Strong experience with social media management tools and dashboards, and the ability to jump in with establishing a workflow within those environments for both posting and monitoring

• Strong organizational skills including experience managing complicated projects

• You know how to find joy and inspiration in daily life and build it into your work

• The ability to wear multiple hats and jump in on a project when the team needs more hands on deck

• Collaborative in nature; unafraid to share notes and work within a transparent creative process where ideas are freely shared and positively critiqued to collectively find the best outcome

• Compassion, empathy, tolerance and inclusiveness are required traits.
