We are seeking a passionate Copywriter to join our rapidly growing global workforce in Chicago. A strong candidate will have a proven track record as a creative storyteller and content creator, with a strong understanding of brand tone, voice, and how to convey both across marketing channels. You will partner closely with Creative, Marketing, and Product teams to ensure all copy and content is high-quality while representing the ThinkMarkets products and brand consistently. This role will report to the VP, Brand & Marketing Strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Produce written materials in a variety of formats, including digital and web, social, emails, broadcast, and conceptual write-ups
- Collaborate with creative team and internal business partners to deliver highly effective initiatives, including website, branding and promotional campaigns, email journeys, display ads, content, video and social
- Develop creative and innovative copy that is relevant, culturally appropriate, and connects with our global audience
- Understand the customer mindset and culture to represent both adequately within copy
- Oversee copy from concept to completion, maintaining stewardship of tone, voice, and brand standards
- Manage a content calendar, creating blog articles, social media posts and other materials of forward-thinking topics for our trading clients
- Provide leadership within the creative team through creative collaboration and giving strategic feedback
- Learn about our business – what we do, who our clients are, what we communicate to them (and why), using those insights to shape our copy strategy
- Evaluate trends, assess new data, and keep up to date with the latest marketing techniques
Requirements:
- 5+ years’ proven experience as a copywriter or related role
- Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
- Self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or related field
- Experience working within financial services or trading is a must
- International experience highly desirable
- Expertise in digital marketing best practices for delivering customer-focused communications that grab/earn the customer’s attention
- Marketing agency experience and/or a combination of in-house/client-side experience
- PR experience is a plus
