Director of Copywriting
Bounteous is looking for a Director of Copywriting to join our fast-growing design practice. This role is ideal for a dynamic and impassioned copywriting veteran focused on furthering sound brand messaging principles in a dynamic agency environment. The ideal director is a naturally engaging storyteller and mentor who enjoys collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to collectively deliver incredible, user-centered, award-winning experiences.
Role and Responsibilities
- Contribute to the establishment of copywriting standards, deliverables and methodologies within the organization
- Present, oversee, and occasionally produce copy deliverables including presentation decks, mission statements, social media posts, website design and wireframes, and any and all digital placements.
- Facilitate discovery activities such as messaging workshops, stakeholder interviews, competitive reviews, etc.
- Demonstrate a mastery of brand, campaign, and marketing objectives and devise strategies to achieve them.
- Develop copy strategies and plans across channels aligned to key audiences.
- Present copy clearly and persuasively in internal and external settings.
- Support project managers to schedule copywriting activities and deliverables within a project.
- Collaborate within multi-disciplinary teams to create innovative, best-in-class, customer centric solutions
- Coach and mentor staff to guide personal and professional growth.
- Stay up to date on the latest copywriting best practices, trends, tools, participate in the local copywriting community, and share your knowledge with our team
- Contribute to our culture and atmosphere, quality of work, and growth into the next generation of user experience designers
Preferred Qualifications
- 11 or more years of experience as a copywriter in an agency environment
- At least 3 years of experience mentoring and managing a team of direct reports
- Experience presenting work to clients, facilitating and leading workshops, and synthesizing data into actionable projects across programs
- Experience connecting copywriting to user, business, and brand value
- Ability to lead engagements to provide a strong voice for Copywriting within blended teams
- Ability to lead and create copywriting deliverables and activities with no oversight
- Ability to manage several projects simultaneously
- Experience in estimating, planning, and staffing project work
- Consulting/Agency experience is a plus
