About The Role
MVMNT is looking for an Editor that can wear multiple hats (think copywriter and editor hybrid) as the company scales. As a member of the Marketing team, this role will write and edit copy on a variety of projects, including advertising, email and social media copy, website content, sales materials, blogs, video, and more. You will work closely with the Marketing team to brainstorm ideas and develop engaging, clear messaging for external and internal campaigns. You will also help define the tone and voice of future marketing and communication campaigns. While we prefer candidates located in Chicago, we will consider exceptional applicants in other locations.
Responsibilities:

  • Bring MVMNT to life through copywriting and messaging that resonates and inspires our customers and audience
  • Develop content calendars and deadlines and maintain them using company project management tools
  • Drive brand messaging consistency across all company communications with a cohesive voice and tone
  • Edit and refine long-form and short-form copy for a diverse portfolio of channels, define copy standards and best practices, and apply data-driven insights to improve marketing content.
  • Work closely with marketing teams, as well as partner with Comms, Demand Gen, and PMM to turn complex insights and industry expertise into accessible, actionable and relatable content for our marketing channels.
  • Work with editorial/content teams to develop content ideas while writing fresh copy that connects with the desired audience and drives action
  • Support channel marketing with copywriting and editing across all channels (advertising, email, website, social media, PR, presentation decks, print, sales collateral and more)
  • Work with outside marketing and PR partners to ensure MVMNT's editorial voice and style carries through to external communications.
  • Stay current on trends and competitors within the transportation/logistics editorial sphere to keep our content fresh and relevant
  • Grow our brand through SEO-driven content to increase our organic traffic and sales
  • See projects through the whole creative lifestyle, from inception to deployment
  • Track copy performance and update and adjust it to reach maximum impact
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Who you are:

  • Love to write and tell stories with prose that's clear, concise, and phobic of jargon
  • Bring creative solutions to every problem and never see a challenge as insurmountable
  • Understand and translate complex subject matter into compelling, accessible content
  • Experience writing for a technical (and non-technical) audience and a proven interest in diving into the world of logistics, transportation, and technology
  • Strong people and project management skills
  • Strong understanding of SEO strategies and tooling, and can identify and optimize on keywords and competition
  • Execution machine and highly organized
  • Stellar cross-collaboration skills

Required Qualifications:

  • A BA/BS or equivalent degree, preferably in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of content marketing experience ideally in B2B (SaaS/Tech/Fintech) or industry/trade publications.
  • Interest in getting your hands dirty with copywriting as we scale up our content team
  • Prior experience as a copywriter with a robust portfolio of impactful short and long form pieces, and ability to think about various mediums our stories can live in
  • Strong editor with keen attention to detail
  • The ability to thrive in a busy, collaborative environment with a high-volume workload often requiring short turnaround times
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to give and receive feedback in a small team environment
  • Comfort with ambiguity and strong preference to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with an ability to adjust with firm goals and capture new business opportunities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience editing at a transportation/logistics media outlet or institution, or technology startup
  • Have a keen interest in logistics, freight, transportation, and/or technology in general
  • Have experience working directly with executives and supporting executive communications programs

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Stock Option Incentive
  • Flexible work from home policy with available office space in downtown Chicago
  • Unlimited PTO / Paid Holidays
  • Health, Vision, Dental insurance options (company covers 100% of insurance premiums)
  • 401k with company matching
