Job Description:

Position Overview

The Learning Content Developer will collaborate with senior members of the Interactive Learning and Design Team to develop, implement, and update high quality training content in a variety of formats including, eLearning, video, audio, leader’s guides for instructor led courses, virtual course materials, PowerPoint presentations, tool kits, study guides, and performance support tools. The Learning Content Developer is responsible for transforming storyboards and other design documents in highly engaging learning content aimed at variety of audiences including internal and external clients. The Learning Content Developer will play a primary role in content governance, will assist in creating learning evaluation tools, and will be responsible for posting content to the LMS or website. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Leverage storyboards and design documents created by the Instructional Designers to execute the development of eLearning, web-based training, instructor-led and self-paced learning content
  • Assist Instructional Designers with content creation, maintenance and revamping of existing courses
  • Demonstrate and apply knowledge of appropriate tools and resources used to develop training content including, Captivate, Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, SnagIt, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, etc.
  • Incorporate graphics, video, or photography to support course development.
  • Assist in the development of tools and resources used for evaluating and measuring training and learning effectiveness (e.g., surveys, evaluations, interviews, focus groups)
  • Create supporting materials for learning activities such as agendas, schedules, quick reference guides, FAQs, handouts, job aids, trainer and participant guides.
  • Develop post-training and performance support tools that support learning transfer and validate effectiveness of training material
  • Assist in quality checking, maintenance and updates for all curriculum
  • Ensure clarity, organization, accuracy and style of both written and developed work content
  • Responsible for technical quality and function of all courses.
  • Participates in cross-training/skill building activities on team and within the department.
  • Additional duties as assigned

 

 

 

Experience and Skills:

Education and Experience

  • This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Communications, or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 2-5 years’ experience developing eLearning projects.
  • Computer skills required including strong aptitude with web-based applications and expertise in MS Office programs required
  • Proficiency in utilizing eLearning authoring tools
  • Knowledge of latest technology in eLearning, Webinars, virtual training, gamification etc.
  • Familiarly with training and development practices and methods including needs assessment and instructional design for instructor led, virtual, online, and blended training
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects
  • Ability to work independently and/or as part of a creative team
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Proficiency with Adobe Captivate or Articulate Storyline preferred
  • Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop or other graphic design tools preferred
