As an integral part of the purchasing process, the Proposal Manager will influence more deals than anyone else in the company. It's a huge responsibility, especially at our accelerated rate of growth. Because this role is critically important to our success, we need another all-star to join the team.
As the Proposal Manager, you will help to distinguish Seismic in the marketplace by writing proposals and other sales-oriented materials. You will support all aspects of the proposal-writing process with a strong focus on executive summaries, cover letters, and other key proposal elements. Additionally, you will be responsible for responding to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs, and supporting the Operations team in answering security-related questionnaires.
Proposal Manager Responsibilities:
• Create proposals and respond to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs from beginning to end, following established procedures and using departmental tools to assign questions, track responses, and meet proposal requirements and timelines
• Own the internal proposal database and tools that support our proposal process
• Continuously update and mechanize proposal content to reflect ongoing product enhancements
• Maintain and expand the proposal database and tools to support sales self-service
• Manage multiple proposals simultaneously, including analyzing requirements, writing original content, editing team contributions, coordinating logistics, and complying with specifications and deadlines
• Provide leadership and guidance as the proposal expert to help the sales team, SMEs, and executives navigate the proposal process from start to finish
• Engage in strategy discussions with sales team to craft proposals and responses that reflect situational awareness and focus on the right value drivers
• Participate in individual and group proposal reviews with senior leadership and other key individuals; incorporate changes and improvements to proposals
Proposal Manager Requirements:
• 5+ years of total work experience, including 2+ years of proposal-writing experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent project management, collaboration, and team-building skills
• Ability to own and manage the overall proposal process and quality of the proposal product
• Ability to effectively multitask and manage multiple proposals with fast turnarounds
• Ability to work independently, self-motivate, follow procedure, and exercise sound judgment
• Proficiencies in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and visual editing tools, and flexibility to adapt to new, technology-driven tools (e.g. database, Salesforce, etc)
