The Studio team creates content that merchandises Groupon’s inventory and brand to customers, on both a local and a national scale. They are responsible for planning, executing and delivering content that aligns with Groupon’s strategic goals. The content they create spans across multiple types of subject matter, from lifestyle photography to product videos to national marketing campaigns and everything in between.

 

Set Designers are in charge of designing and creating the sets used for photo and video productions. They source, select, and purchase for each production. They flip sets according to Art Direction and photography shot lists during production to make sure each set reaches creative goals.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Concept, design and construct sets that meet the unique needs of each production;

  • Prepare estimates of set costs;

  • Procure construction materials within budget guidelines;

  • Source and construct set elements as cost effectively as possible;

  • Deliver completed sets on time;

  • Conduct set flips on-set

  • Communicate effectively with crew and maintain alignment throughout production

  • Adapt and make in-the-moment decisions to overcome production setbacks

  • Identify, resolve and prevent issues from arising that impact the quality of deliverables

  • Provide clear direction and feedback during post-production reviews

  • Catalog all sets and props, keeping inventory organized and up-to-date

  • Create storage systems for set design elements to ensure longevity of each item

  • Work as part of a team to explore briefs and generate ideas

  • Present ideas and proposals to colleagues as well to Art Director and Production Manager

  • Incorporate emerging visual trends into techniques to improve the user experience

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts

  • 2 years of professional studio/set design experience

  • Knowledge of Canon Camera systems

  • Proficient in Mac platform

  • Must be able to lift and transport 25 lbs
