Primary Function:

Content Strategy plays a key role in the success of Grainger's business, especially in the rapidly evolving online space. Content Strategy is responsible for helping ensure Grainger’s content meets a unified standard across our e-commerce platforms and offline channels, and that our extensive product offering is most effectively represented and communicated to our customers. Content Strategy is also responsible for helping identify and analyze critical customer and process information that will help the organization develop, articulate, communicate, and implement strategies for an industry-leading customer experience.

The Sr. Analyst, Content Strategy is responsible for supporting Content Strategy’s role within the Grainger business. This includes gathering data to support analysis, reviewing content, identifying gaps and opportunities in our content and processes, and making recommendations and driving execution to bridge those gaps. The Sr. Analyst, Content Strategy is also responsible for helping to improve content creation and publishing processes, and partners cross-functionally with many teams across Grainger including Merchandising, Supplier Management, Content Creation, Product Management, and technical teams.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities May Include: 

  • Partnering across Publishing (Content Strategy, Copy, CGI, Photo, Catalog, and Supplier Content) and MRO Solutions teams to develop and improve efficient and effective Publishing processes
    • Partner cross-functionally to support build out of processes for category review and content creation
    • Work with leader to identify areas for improvement, then plan, align, and implement solutions
    • Become an SME of the teams, work, and and systems necessary for publishing industry-leading content
  • Ensuring published content meets a unified standards across multiple channels
    • Support development and refinement of publishing guidelines
    • Partner with content creation teams to develop and refine content evaluation criteria
    • Help identify gaps in content coverage and quality, working with necessary teams to develop and execute a plan to address
  • Developing and maintaining metrics to measure Publishing processes and content
    • Develop and update reporting to identify gaps in content presence and quality
    • Develop metrics to measure process performance, using data to identify where we may have improvement opportunities
    • Partner with publishing teams to build metrics review into regular processes
  • Other projects and analysis as needed

Position Requirements:

Education:

  • BA or BS required

Experience & Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of experience in business process role that required extensive cross-functional partnership and analytics
  • Background in business process, market intelligence, strategy, research, data analytics, or project management
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Structured and analytical thinking
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment and handle multiple conflicting priorities
  • Eagerness to explore different teams, functions, digital technologies, data analytics tools, and learn how to effectively drive change in an organization
  • Able collaborator with leadership, business users, and technical personnel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel (Pivot Tables, Lookups)
  • Merchandising, ecommerce, or industrial experience are a bonus
