What You Do:

As our platform evolves, we need a strong technical writer to develop and write documentation including user guides, FAQs, lexicon, and other technical material in the industries we serve. If you have previously worked with a product development team, we would love to talk to you!

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and update technical documentation that may include: user guides, release notes, API documentation, installation guides, FAQs, etc., while adhering to best practices in documentation, writing, and editing
  • Deliver high-quality deliverables by specified due dates and maintain end-to-end ownership, from creation to delivery
  • Organize and update online document repository
  • Collaborate effectively with the rest of the team as well as UX practitioners, product managers, customer service and training, technical architects and developers, and other technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EDUCATION

  • Education: BA or BS degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience: 5+ years experience in successfully designing and developing technical writing deliverables within tight timelines and with conflicting priorities
  • Experience in writing documents catering to a range of users including technical audiences (developers, implementation team), end users, and internal customers including training, customer service, and other stakeholders
  • Thorough knowledge of relevant process: editorial, technical documentation, and product development
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new information quickly and use it to create accurate and comprehensive documentation
  • Experience working collaboratively with product management organizations, especially within Agile environments
  • Experience with Git version control and MadCap Flare highly desirable
  • Experience with (online) authoring tools including at least two of the following: Confluence, Microsoft Office suite, and Box
  • Strong copy editing and proofreading skills
  • Experience writing for the manufacturing industry a plus

Location

We are located in River North just right off the Chicago Brown Line stop. We also provide you with a free shuttle service to/from Ogilvie and Union.
