Job Description

The position requires a strong background in direct mail print production (including sheetfed, web, inline web, etc.), cut sheet and continuous digital imaging (monochrome and color), bindery/lettershop services, and USPS regulations.  Ensures best practices are implemented by working with the account and creative teams to develop proper creative, bid specifications, project timelines and schedules that meet client expectations.

Essential Functions:

·       Manage the operational and financial results of a large print production organization

·       Develop strategies and initiatives to continuously improve the profitability and efficiency of a multi-location production operation

·       Manage and maintain high levels of client (internal and external) satisfaction

Knowledge and Skills:

·       Strong communication and team skills

·       Solid working knowledge of P&L/budget management

·       Extensive knowledge of print production technologies and methodologies

Duties & Responsibilities

·       Oversee quality, efficiency, and timeliness to ensure overall on-time delivery, quality assurance standards, fiscal results, and client satisfaction

•     As required, interact and negotiate extensively with clients, vendors, and account services professionals to ensure overall project executions are being delivered as scheduled and within budget parameters, while emphasizing high quality, client satisfaction, and fiscal responsibility.

·       Directs and oversees all platform updates and maintenance activities to maximize and ensure efficiencies for all production systems and technologies

·       Advise on best production practices and new systems enhancements

·       Determine and maintain optimal organizational structure and staffing levels

•     Negotiate favorable contracts and agreements

·       Represent the production division and assist with “sell-in” of production services through client visits, tours, and presentations

·       Assess profitability of all accounts and contribute production financial data to drive strategic pricing for clients

·       Support all company-wide initiatives and comply with all process requirements (HR, Legal, IT and Finance)

•     Actively participate in executive-level decision-making, responsible for long-term strategic planning and short-term tactics

 

 Technical Requirements

·       Experience working with Microsoft products, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

·       An understanding of multi-channel marketing tools, data, programming techniques and platform technologies

·       Comprehensive experience with multiple print and production technologies

 

Preferred Qualifications

•         10+ years of managing large scale print production manufacturing operations

•         10+ years successfully leading a large team (100+ associates)

•         Ability to conceptualize and build manufacturing departments and to transform existing capabilities into new sources of agency revenue

•         Proven ability to create high-impact collateral and go-to-market strategies that drive demand and create a differentiated position in the marketplace

•         Competitive analysis/differentiation

•         Contract negotiation and cost savings initiatives

•         Budgetary management

•         Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to translate complex custom solutions and technologies into clear and easy-to-understand communication

•         Excellent interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of establishing credibility with key constituencies including technologists, client service representatives, marketers, sales, and product management

•         A deep attention to detail and quality of deliverables

•         Relevant marketing experience is a plus
