Cloud Security Engineer
Job Description Summary
The Cloud Security Engineer is responsible for security compliance, analysis, and incident response across multiple hosting environments, systems and hardware platforms.
Serve as a Lead Engineer in a multi-cloud environment for all cloud security initiatives including Software as a Service (SaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Private/Public Cloud (AWS/Google/Azure).
Job Duties
- Document cloud security controls, policies and procedures and make recommendations to management for changes where appropriate
- Ensure policies are effectively communicated to the business
- Work with all stakeholders detailing roles and responsibilities including compliance
- Address customer specific questions on security and hosting environment, either in written or verbal form through RFPs/RFIs or periodic customer driven assessments when required
- Evaluate and deploy cloud security platforms including, but not limited to configuration management systems, vulnerability management systems, intrusion management systems, cloud access security brokers (CASB) or data management systems. Hands on technical experience is required.
- Ensures that all infrastructure systems are designed, implemented, and supported to meet security policies and standards
- Ensures that products meet security standards and requirements expected by customers and the commercial marketplace
- Assess risk and recommend mitigating controls for project implementations, designs, etc.
- Respond to monitors and alerts by leading investigations to security events
- Perform in a leadership role for Incident Management teams when requested
- Support all company directed initiatives and projects related to the Security Monitoring areas to include all compliance issues
- Become an advocate for security
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related work experience
- ITIL experience or certification is a plus
- CISSP or CEH certification is a plus
- Experience in SOC1/SOC2, Sarbanes Oxley, or related auditing requirements
- Demonstrated technical familiarity with basic networking (Routing, DNS, DHCP), Microsoft server, Unix (Linux and Solaris), firewall administration, encryption technologies (SSH, SSL, IPSec), intrusion detection technologies, anti-malware technologies, and security information event management (SIEM).
- Hand on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) operations, security best practices, and compliance methodologies.
- Knowledge of Google Compute Platform or Microsoft Azure is a plus.
- Prior experience with Cloud Access Security Brokers (CASB) is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Ability to perform penetration testing and vulnerability testing
- Ability to work and communicate with coworkers and users under pressure
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to communicate with all levels of management
- Strong customer-service orientation
- Evening and weekend work may be required
