About The Position
The Network Engineer at Raise provides a broad range of technical support and participates in the planning, deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting and installation of our networks. This includes application servers, routers, firewall, LAN, WAN, phone systems, printers, and both physical and remote workstations. You will resolve network issues and manage the IT disaster backup and recovery systems. The ideal candidate will think in an innovative and creative way to assist in the growth of our business by providing timely and flexible network solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement and maintain all network infrastructure and connectivity for our offices and remote data centers.
- Work cross-functionally with IT, Security and Engineering to proactively improve performance and security across network segments.
- Be a great team player with a high degree of self-motivation and the ability to quickly prioritize various projects, tickets, and incidents in a fast-moving organization.
- Perform vulnerability testing, hardening, and audits of key systems and network devices.
- Maintain existing network security auditing tools, review log data and automate processes, research new tools and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Assist in the day-to-day management of our other systems infrastructure and provide support, as needed.
Skills & Qualifications
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience managing network infrastructure with multiple locations (startup or rapidly growing organizations a plus.)
- Expert understanding of networking fundamentals and advanced routing protocols, such as BGP & OSPF and L2/L3 switching
- Experience with Cisco Meraki-based networking solutions
- Hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls and next-generation security platforms
- Experience with AWS networking, VPC management, and hardening
- Knowledge of Active Directory, RADIUS, Kerberos, DNS, DHCP, PKI, IPSec VPNs, and other core networking services
- Experience automating routine tasks using Python or similar language
- Ability to take abstract ideas and turn them into end-to-end technical solutions with proper supporting documentation
- Strong sense of ownership when it comes to uptime and stability of infrastructure
- CCNA/CCNP, Security+ or other related technical certification(s) is a plus!
