Provi is building a team of top-tier analytics professionals, with a specific focus on developing internally and externally facing insights platforms, business intelligence tools and robust data products. As a crucial component of this team, we are currently seeking a Business Analyst.
What you’ll be doing
Commercial Business Acumen, Data Analytics, Visualization & Storytelling
Gain a thorough understanding of the commercial and brand operations of the business, and share this knowledge collaboratively across the organization.
Leverage Provi’s first party sales data to proactively identify strategic insights, summarize these findings, and share these findings with industry partners via Provi’s externally facing data and insights products.
Design, implement, and support Commercial Analytics and Business Intelligence reporting platforms, using advanced data visualization and analytics tools.
Design and build best-in-class, publication-ready data visualizations using diverse sets of structured and unstructured data.
Strategize in collaboration with multi-functional teams to identify data-driven solutions to ongoing needs across the organization and industry.
Commercial Analytics Process Development & Support
Collaborate with business intelligence, data science and engineering teams to discover new and creative ways to solve leading-edge problems with descriptive and predictive analytics.
Develop SQL code to build ETL jobs within Provi’s Snowflake environment, and partner with the engineering team to implement and scale these jobs.
Create descriptive and statistically driven models and data sets, using Python, R & SQL to run automatically on historic data and for systematic updates, collaborating closely with the engineering team to deploy across the enterprise.
Work in tandem with the engineering team to develop distributed computing capabilities to handle large-scale data storage and computation, and deployment of such a platform for analytical purposes.
Monitor and resolve performance issues specific to insights platform and data product development and delivery.
Move forward multiple projects in simultaneity by employing project management techniques.
What we are looking for
Education & Professional Experience
BA/BS in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field and 2+ years of relevant work experience OR 5+ years of relevant work experience (BA/BS is not required).
Experience working with Nielsen, NABCA, IRI, and store-level data sources such as VIP & NABCA SAM data.
Experience developing and presenting data-driven insights and findings to cross-functional teams and executive leadership within the Beverage Alcohol industry.
Experience working for a large supplier, distributor or retailer within the Beverage Alcohol industry.
Technical Qualifications
Expertise in analyzing large, complex, multi-dimensional datasets via R, Python & SQL, and accomplished in the use of statistical analysis environments.
Experience with relational databases such as SQL and NoSQL, as well as cloud-based analytics & computing capabilities.
Demonstrated ability to independently prepare statistical analyses with accuracy and calibration within an established time frame.
Ability to read and understand mathematical formulae with the capability of applying new concepts to existing problem sets.
Understanding of both structured and unstructured data, the benefits of both, and when / how to apply them.
Experience applying statistical concepts and knowledge to real-world applications.
Additional Qualifications
